King Charles would not have wished Meghan Markle, who mentioned the Sussex name on his new Netflix series.
The Duchess of Sussex, who proudly spoke of her royal title when celebrity guest Mindy Kaling called her a ‘Markle’, would have disturbed King Charles.
The American office star, Kaling, is spotted and says, “People wouldn’t think Meghan Markle ate at Jack in the Box.”
Meghan fires back with, “It’s also so much fun that you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I’m Sussex now.”
She said, “It is our common name as a family, and I assume that I had not acknowledged how meaningful it would be for me before we had children.
“I love that it is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”
The Sussex name she adds, “is part of our love story”.
In a speech with the sun about Meghan’s conversation, the royal author Phil Dampier said: “I doubt King Charles would like Meghan to refer to the meaning of Sussex as her name, but I have always felt that he is reluctant to start every process of removing her and Harry of their titles.
“It would be difficult to do, and he won’t make rift worse, hoping that one day there may be a reconciliation with his son.”
“The show will do nothing to help repair the rift between them, as it is mainly to run about arranging fruit and lighting of light,” explained the royal expert.
“At least Meghan tries to make money from something else in addition to criticizing the royal family.
“But any family defending will take much longer and a real change of attitudes on all sides.”
