King Charles has honored Sir Billy Boston’s services for the Rugby League on Tuesday.

The monarch has made a larger decision on knighting during a ceremony in Buckingham Palace.

According to the images shared by the official Instagram grip from the royal family, Sir Billy became the first sportsman to receive the Knights of Rugby League.

The statement read, “Today in Buckingham Palace, Sir Billy Boston became the first sportsman to receive a knight for services for the Rugby League.”

“The king presented Sir Billy – which is considered one of the best Rugby League players of all time and scored a British record of 571 attempts and 488 performances for @wiganwarriorsrl – with his insignia during a ceremony in Buckingham Palace,” it read further.

The pictures showed Sir Billy’s enthusiasm after being knighted to the knight of King Charles. He was surrounded by his family when he received the honor, which also looked happy.
