King Charles won hearts as he celebrated the success of Refugee Employment Mentoring Program at a Buckingham Palace reception.
The monarch welcomed refugee professionals from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria and Ethiopia at the reception.
According to The expression, Refugees had participated in a program that paired them with members of the royal household working in similar professions.
During the event, Charles spoke with the mentters and members of the refugee development network and also listened to their experiences and learned how the program helped them get back into their careers.
In a speech with the publication, Jenny Walton, CEO of Refugee Employment Network, expressed her gratitude to the monarch.
“The focus of the mentoring program is to tackle under -employment,” she said.
“We specifically work with people who have come to this country who have been displaced by force, which has a professional background and seems to be entering the profession,” Walton continued.
“We had cyber security engineers, we had senior accounting people, someone who worked in a bank in Afghanistan, and what we did was that we matched them with employees in Royal Household in the same professions.
“The purpose of the program was to get people to understand the path back to employment in the UK in their profession and to have someone working in this industry help them navigate it.
“We are very grateful for his majesty for his leadership and committed support.”
