Council meeting improperly signs resolution ‘adopted’ due to oversight, case to be resubmitted
A misunderstanding arose during a council meeting held on Friday regarding a decision related to traffic fines in the city, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has acknowledged.
On perusal of the official records of the council, it was noted that the said resolution – though moved by certain council members – was not properly discussed or debated during the session.
Further, the document was falsely signed and recorded as “passed” due to administrative oversight, despite not having undergone the necessary consideration process.
The decision on traffic fines has therefore not yet been approved, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation clarified.

The resolution currently has no official status. The matter must be formally re-examined at the next council meeting, where it will be presented, properly discussed and adopted in a timely manner and in accordance with established rules.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation declares that it remains committed to maintaining transparency, procedural accuracy and accountability regarding all Council matters.
All measures are taken to ensure that similar administrative oversights or procedural errors do not occur in the future, the company assures.
