In response to several public complaints about the rising events of theft of iron bars and railing from bridges, led public buildings, poles and border walls across the city, Mayor Murtaza Wahab an urban crash on drug addicts occupying roads, sidewalks and other public spaces. He ordered medications found in public spaces to be switched safely to the city’s headquarters and then to rehabilitation centers. Spokesman Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Daniyal Siyal, revealed that dedicated town truck teams have been deployed in each district to ensure that the process is performed in a safe, human and structured way focusing on preventing repeated occupations of public areas.
The question in question has repeatedly come up in different high -level meetings, president of the mayor, especially regarding theft and damage to public infrastructure. KMC has already offered land for the development of large rehabilitation centers as part of a long -term solution. However, on the mayor’s directives, the case is also addressed as a high priority project.
Siyal said “These individuals not only harm critical infrastructure through theft, they also tear on the social substance in our city.
For the sake of a few rupees, they are jeopardizing Karachi’s beauty, security and public property. “
With regard to this, KMC remains obliged to restore order in public spaces, preserve public assets and work against the social reintegration of affected persons through rehabilitation efforts.

Mubina Town Police, in response to reports of drug addicts gathered in the area, detained 13 individuals. According to Sho Chaudhry Nawaz, information was received about the presence of drug addicts around University Road and nearby areas, in response that a police team conducted raid in the reported places and took the individuals in custody and transferred them to a rehabilitation center for treatment and improvement.
