Konami has offered some insight into where Silent Hill F. standing in the total Silent Hill series.
In a new post shared on the Japanese Silent Hill X / Twitter account, Konami clarified that the upcoming horror game is an independent title in Silent Hill Timeline that suggests that it has no connection to any previous games in the series (via IGN).
The study also confirmed that players do not need prior knowledge of the franchise and that even newcomers in the series may experience Silent Hill F..
“This is a whole new work independent of the series,” Konami said (translated via X / Twitter). “Even those who have never played the ‘Silent Hill’ series can enjoy this game.”
Only a few games in the series, which Silent HillAt Silent Hill 3and Silent Hill Origins, have a connection and Silent Hill 2 Offers some links to the first game, but both plot are not directly related.
While only some games take place in the titular city, Silent Hill F. Will especially take place away from America completely in the rural Japanese city of Ebisugaoka in the 1960s.

Konami revealed new details of the game in March along with an eerie new trailer. The story will follow teen Shimizu Hinako, whose secluded hometown of Ebisugaoka is shrouded in a sudden fog and transforms his home into a haunting nightmare.
“When the city becomes silent and the fog thickens, Hinako has to navigate the winding trails from Ebisugaoka, loose complex riddles and confront grotesque monsters to survive,” the game description reads.
There is no release date for Silent Hill F. Yet yet, but we know the horror game will be released to PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series and PC. And with Summer Game Party just around the corner in June, there is every chance that we will get more details at the annual game event.
