Korn Ferry Tour Veteran Ryan McCormick used an unconventional method to try to calm his temper during the second round of the Club Car Championship on Friday.
McCormick that competed for PGA Tour Last year, but was relegated back to the development this year, has had trouble keeping its peace on the golf course. This week at Landing Golf & Athletic Club in Georgia, he decided to test some new anger handling tools.

“Have had a non-fun time this year on Golf course. Pretty angry and crazy, “he said in a video shared by the trip on social media.” I figured I’ve tried a lot of things and I just figured I would close myself. So I put ties over my mouth. “
“Just too angry on the golf course. I’ve run out of ideas and I was thinking about the tape a few weeks ago,” he added with a laugh. “So, unfortunately, it just came down to it today. I was hoping it might help me. Can’t say it did or didn’t.”
McCormick said the idea came from his desire to create a better environment for his gaming partners, which he admitted was “not fair.”

A major obstacle to his latest “solution” was how he would then communicate with his caddy. McCormick’s answer to it was the old fashion method: pen and paper.
“Most just to write down the numbers,” he said. “I just wanted to point and ask him sometimes a reading. It made things much simpler, I tell you.”
While the jury might be out of how the tape helped his frustrations, it certainly did not affect his game positively.

McCormick shot a 72 and missed the cut with a few strokes. He went into the tournament at No. 126 on the list of points and is likely to fall further after Friday’s performance.
