Peshawar:
Dealers observed at the invitation of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) a complete closing strike over Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including Peshawar, to express solidarity with the people of Gaza, where all kinds of companies remained completely closed.
Together with the merchants, the transport community also protested against Israeli’s atrocities against innocent civilians in Gaza.
On this occasion, the merchants also took protest meetings and burned the Israeli flag.
All major commercial areas in Peshawar, including the old Walled City, Ashraf Road, Qissa Khwani Bazaar, Chowk Yadgar, Rampura Bazaar, Khyber Bazaar, Saddar, University Road and other trading centers remained completely closed.
In the call from JI and various trade organizations, business activities across the country were completely suspended.
In Peshawar and other districts in the province, the large and smaller markets remained closed, and during protests in some areas, protesters shouted slogans against Israel and in support of Palestinians.
In this regard, under the banner of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Tanzeem Tajiran, a central protest camp was established at Rampura Gate in Peshawar to express solidarity with the oppressed people in Palestine and to protest against Israeli atrocities.
The protest was led by Tanzeem Tajran President Malik Mehr Elahi.
A large number of presidents of bazaars and members of business attended the protest camp.
Peshawar Chamber -President Shakeel Ahmad Saraf also strongly condemned the aggression of Israel and India.
The protest camp was supported by Pakistan Business Forum, Pakistan Peoples Trade Wing, other unions and political and social figures that promised full support for the shutter and promised to be behind all future plans for action.
During their speeches in the camp, participants demanded that the government in Pakistan and the army impose a complete ban on import and trade in Israeli products and businesses.
They emphasized that it was time for a strong and crucial reaction to terrorism and malicious design of Israel and India.
Business expressed strong anger against Israel, India and anti-Islam elements and raised slogans of ‘Death to Israel and India’ and filled the air with their song.
The protesters held banners and waved Palestinian flags in solidarity while Israeli flags were burned during the demonstrations.
The merchants further stated that all Islamic countries must now unite and raise the flag of jia against anti-Islamic forces.
