Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) The government has completed a successful test flight for its first aerial ambulance service ever using a MI-17 helicopter that will be converted to offer emergency medical services.
Health adviser, iHtisham Ali, participated in the test flight and was informed of the Russia -made military transport helicopter’s conversion to an aerial ambulance, Express News reported.
He confirmed that the provincial government adapts the MI-17 helicopter to public service of emergency medical evacuations where necessary medical equipment and changes are installed to meet international standards.
In a speech with the media, according to Disham Ali, the government under the special directive of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur uses the MI-17 helicopter for the first time to meet people’s health needs.
“This helicopter has already been instrumental in providing medicine and evacuating patients to safer placements in emergencies and saving thousands of lives,” Ali added.
Air Ambulance Service will not incur additional fees to the public as the MI-17 helicopter is owned by the provincial government. It is set to become the country’s first advanced air ambulance system, which offers high quality, effective services for medical emergencies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In addition, the weather in KP remains cold and dry with temperatures that fall as low as -3 ° C in some areas, according to the meteorological department.
The weather forecast indicates that most of the province will experience cold and dry conditions in the coming days, with partial cloud coverage expected in areas such as chitral, dir and swat, reported Express News.
These areas can also witness light fog in the morning.
The provincial capital, Peshawar, recorded a temperature of 6 ° C, while the lowest temperature was detected in parachinar, where it dropped to -3 ° C.
Similarly, Malam Jabba and Kalam witnessed temperatures of -2 ° C, and chitral Drosh experienced zero degrees Celsius.
Other areas of the province also reported under freezing temperatures with lower chitral at 2 ° C, dir at 4 ° C and Dera Ismail Khan at 9 ° C.
