Islamabad:
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has formally requested the Afghan ambassador to facilitate lectures with the forbidden TTP, a source within the provincial government informed the Express Pakinomist Peshawar office.
Following repeated directives from PTI’s imprisoned leader Imran Khan, chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur, accompanied by the Senior Grand Jirga Member Barriers Muhammad Ali Saif, visited the Afghan High Commission in Islamabad on Friday night.
From the beginning, the Minister of Chief offered compassion to the Afghan ambassador Ahmad Shukab and insured further help with the deprived families of Kunar after the recent earthquake deaths.
The two sides also discussed the repatriation of Afghan refugees, insurance against forced deportations and the security situation in the province.
Ambassador Shukab praised the timely reaction of the KP government and recognized its cooperation on the issue of Afghan refugees.
Gandapur oriented envoy of the law and the order situation in KP and suggested forming a Jirga to hold conversations with the forbidden TTP in Kabul or elsewhere in Afghanistan, the source confirmed.
The Afghan ambassador assured that he would communicate the Chief Minister’s request to the Afghan central command, adding that the modalities of the meeting would be completed, the source added.
