Peshawar:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has witnessed a sharp increase in terrorist incidents, with 605 cases reported in the first eight months of this year, leaving 138 civilians dead and 352 wounded.
According to figures from the Central Police Office (CPO), 351 suspected terrorists were appointed in terror -related cases during this period. Security operations led to the killing of 32 terrorists and the arrest of five others.
The data also reveals that the provincial police force has carried a heavy toll, with 79 staff martyrded and 130 wounded in various attacks.
In August alone, 129 terrorist incidents were reported throughout the province. These attacks claimed the life of 17 civilians, leaving 51 wounded. In the same month, 186 suspects were identified while eight terrorists were killed in meetings. District collapse shows that Bannu registered the highest number of attacks in August with 42 events.
