Peshawar:
Advisor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister of Information and Public Relations, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, complained on Monday that the federal government has not yet responded to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s letter on the transfer of funds to the merged districts.
He pointed out that the tribal districts since their constitutional merger were now KP’s formal part; Therefore, the transfer of their means of development to the province was a constitutional and legal obligation.
Barrister Saif expressed concern about the silence of the federal government and called it deeply regrettable and an obvious violation of the Constitution and the law.
Based on rising militants and terrorist incidents, especially in KP, Barrister Saif emphasized that economic stability and development of the merged districts were important to counteract terrorism, as terrorism was not only a provincial but a national issue.
He accused the federal government of throwing funds instead of cooperating with the KP government for the development of the merged districts, which he described as an injustice to the people in these areas.
He claimed that the provincial government under the leadership of CM Gandapur is fully obliged to the development of the merged districts with a special focus on education, healthcare and infrastructure.
Barrister Dr. SAIF further stated that the federal government must stop treating the province with a place -matting attitude and immediately releasing all pending agents.
He added that the KP government used all available resources to bring the tribal districts to a par with the rest of the province and called on the federal government to support these efforts rather than preventing them by withholding financial support.
