The Tourist Police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have not received their salary for the past six months. Following the emergence of the issue, a call for attention has been submitted in the provincial assembly.
The Notice is a document used in official bodies to draw attention to the Minister on a matter of urgent public importance. It has been jointly tabled in the assembly by PML-N members Shoubiya Shahid and Suresh Kumar, PPP members Ashbar Jadun, Garpal Singh and Bahari Lal along with Askar Parvez of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI).
According to the release, the KP Tourist Police are facing several financial, administrative and professional difficulties due to non-payment of their salaries. The affected staff are also facing emotional and mental distress over the issue, saying they have also not been given a formal service structure, adding to uncertainty about their future.

In the notice submitted, it appears that the tourist police’s contract had expired on May 1, 2025, but former Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had announced at a board meeting that the employees in question would be employed permanently. However, this announcement was never implemented.
Furthermore, the notice argues that a one-time temporary extension bill was passed in the provincial assembly but was also never implemented, which is unfair to the staff.
The legislators have therefore sought permission to discuss the matter to give the staff their rightful rights, to address their anxiety and dissatisfaction.
