During the meeting, which also saw the participation of MNA Faisal Amin Gandapur, additional chief secretary for planning and other senior provincial officials, detailed discussions were held on various welfare programs implemented in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by UN agencies.

One of the most important issues in the discussion was the health sector, especially the efforts to eliminate poliovirus, improve the health of mother and children and prevent neonatal deaths.

Main Minister Gandapur emphasized that the eradication of polio remains one of the highest priorities of the provincial government, where significant and focused efforts were made in collaboration with international partner organizations to make the anti-polio campaigns more effective.

In addition, the chief minister highlighted the government’s obligation to improve education, especially for girls, and the efforts to increase literacy in merged districts. He shared that 36,000 scholarships have been delivered to girls in these districts to encourage their education.

Other topics covered during the meeting included the environment, culture, tourism and the development of rural areas.

The minister also assured the delegation that the provincial government is taking serious steps to ensure welfare for all religious and cultural minorities in the region, with initiatives such as providing solar systems to all places of worship.

Security and transport issues regarding UN agencies working in the province were also discussed. Chief Minister Gandapur assured the delegation that the provincial government would work closely with the UN agencies and take all the necessary measures to ensure their staff’s safety and security.

The UN delegation praised the provincial government’s efforts in the health sector and recognized the ongoing work in various social welfare initiatives.
