KSA DEFENSE DEAL sets the scene for new Islamic power block: Juii-F chief

Jamiat Urvila-e-Islam (Jui-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday greeted the strategic defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and said the agreement “marks the beginning of the common defense of Islamic countries”.

Fazl, who approached a collection at the end of Sindh Peace March in Karachi, said the new bilateral covenant between Islamabad and Riyadh reflected the need for a shared security strategy.

“This defense agreement is in line with our ideology and manifesto and marks the start of a common defense strategy for the Islamic world,” he said, calling on Muslim states to identify and remove obstacles to unity.

The Jui-F chief said the deal should galvanize Muslim nations to solve their differences and present a unified front. “Now both countries have to go forward and lead the Islamic world according to their capacity,” he said.

Fazl also welcomed recent dialogues in the Arab and Islamic world, including the Doha conference, which described them as early but necessary steps towards larger unity. “The Arabic-Islamic summit in Doha was a positive start for Islamic entity. Expectations were high, but it was a step towards building an Islamic bloc,” he added.

When he is reminiscent of his long -standing call for a unified block among Muslim states, he said such unity was central to his party’s manifesto. “I said a week ago at a rally in Rawalpindi that Muslim countries should form a block. Until Muslim states stop fighting each other, the world will keep them muted,” he said.

The Jui-F chief framed his party as a voice for the wider Ummah and said that the movement is not only for Pakistan, but also for reasons, including Palestine and al-Qud. “Jui-F is Ummahs, Palestine and those who have sacrificed for al-QDS,” he told followers.

When he turned to Palestine, he reiterated that Pakistan has long established that Israel’s presence in Palestinian land is uneven. He called for a strong attitude to support Palestine to be maintained on each platform. Any kind of flexibility or compromise, he warned, would only strengthen Israel’s attitude.

Fazl also praised activists who joined humanitarian convoys to Gaza, saying he greets Pakistanis who participated in flotillas and promised their efforts represented the nation. “Some of our young people joined the flotilla to Gaza – we greet them. They represent our country’s concern,” he said.

He paid tribute to Sindh Peace march selection and criticized the security situation in parts of the country. “From one end of Sindh to the other we held a peaceful march. I would notice that there is no real peace in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa; in Balochistan, people are picked up and made to disappear,” he said, adding that Jui-F had raised his voice against injustices in Quetta.

He also warned of obstacles to his party’s campaign, but said their fight would remain peaceful. “Obstacles are placed on our way, yet our peaceful struggle continues. When Jui-F gives voice to the people, you will see how Islamabad can be peaceful,” he said.

He closed by confirming his party’s attitude towards religious and national questions and said that Juii-F would continue to stand for what it sees as Pakistan’s and Ummah’s interests.
