It’s a “difficult time” with “grief, shock and unbelievers” in the LSU closure room this week, head coach Brian Kelly said on Tuesday as Tigers takes care of the loss of the broad recipient Kyren Lacy.

Lacy, probably ready to be an NFL draft of election later this month, was found dead with a “self-inflicted gunshot wound” after a police hunt in Texas on Saturday night, authorities said. He was 24.

Kelly told journalists on Tuesday after the team’s spring practice that they have brought the university’s professional counseling team to help them in the dressing room who need it.

“Certainly, I think everyone on our team has somehow had a relationship at different levels with the cheese. Everyone will tackle it differently. First, you understand that there is no way you have to feel,” Kelly said. “We lean heavily on our professional counseling department. Having the resource here allows them to seek one-on-one-stroke conversation that some may need. You will allow your players to have these resources if they actually need them.”

Kelly talked a lot about his former recipient, as he called a “bright star.”

“He had an incredible personality. I want to remember him as someone who had a love for the game, a love to be a tiger, and was a guy who played with great feeling. When you think of Kyren, you will smile most of the time because of the way he handled himself. He was a guy full of energy and I think many of his teammates will remember him that way.”

Harris County Sheriff’s Office said deputies received a call about a man identified as Lacy, who argued with a family member when he shot a gun in the ground, according to Fox 26 Houston. Officials learned Lacy had fled the stage and launched a search for him.

Officials said deputies were trying to get a traffic stop on Lacy, but he led them on a car chase that went for miles. Lacy then crashed its vehicle in the spring, according to authorities.

Responsive deputies removed Lacy from the vehicle to take him in custody, but he was found with a “self -inflicted gunshot wound” and was declared dead on stage, the sheriff’s office says.

The broad recipient was investigated in Louisiana in connection with a crash in December leaving a 78-year-old man dead, officials said in January.
