Dallas Maverick’s Guard Kyrie Irving will reportedly miss the rest of the NBA season after he suffered a knee injury during a match against Sacramento Kings on Monday night.
Irving was diagnosed with a torn ACL, ESPN reported.
Irving, a nine-time NBA All-Star, fell and landed awkward on the knee in the first half of Monday’s game. The Mavs star had visible pain as tears ran down the face. He was able to stay in the game long enough to make both of his free throwing attempts before he was helped from the field.

Then he was excluded for the rest of the game.
“It’s just who I mean Kai is a tough guy,” said Maverick’s head coach Jason Kidd. “I asked him when they took him off the field, ‘are you good if you are traveling without shooting? You are excluded.’ So they took him to the free-c-c-castle line and he shot the free kicks and then we got him out.

Mavs eventually suffered a loss of 122-98.
Irving seemed to suffer the serious injury when he was buried when he drove to the basket. The 2016 NBA Master’s right foot landed on the foot of a Kings player under the play, causing him to lose his balance.

Mavericks did not offer an update on Irving’s status after Monday’s game, but Kidd described it as an unfortunate moment.
“Just unlucky,” Kidd said. “I hope he is healthy that it is not serious.”
Irving grabbed his knee and stayed on the hardwood for several minutes after he hit the floor.

After Monday’s Matchup with Kings, Irving is an average of 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per day. Match this season. He has become the focal point of Dallas’ offense since superstar guard Luka Doncic was traded for Los Angeles Lakers early last month.
Irving’s injury marks the latest setback for Mavericks who have already played over the past few weeks with Anthony Davis. Dallas acquired Davis in the Blockbuster Doncic trade.
The center suffered an injury to Hans Mavericks’ debut on February 8th. Mavs will return to action Wednesday when they take on Bucks in Milwaukee.
