The Los Angeles Sparks Come under fire on social media this week for a post that some users claimed sexualized one of the team’s players.
Sparks’ X -Side shared a post Tuesday afternoon teasing the team’s games against Seattle Storm Later that night.
The position shared a graphic of rookie guard Sarah Ashlee Barker wearing what seemed to be a crop plate.

“Back in front of the home crowd,” the post said, adding game information.

Fans did not seem impressed with the decision to send Barker dressed that way.
“Where is Jersey’s man,” wrote a user.
“These gameday posts roast me. No unis or nothing, just thirsty traps,” added another.
Another user wrote partly, “What kind of chance does women’s sports have if this is official team communication ??? Do they play in lingerie? So put them in the FKN jerseys on Gameeday.”

The sparks have previously shared game day items of players carrying their uniforms.

Just last week, Sparks Frem Cameron Brink faced similar criticism from a fan online and accused the previous choice of first round of spending more time “going down red carpets and Schmoozing” than rehabbing her ACL injury.
“She should have been back on the field now, and something tells me that if she puts so much work into rehabilitation as she puts on going down red carpets and Schmoozing, she would be back now,” the tab wrote in a comment that Brink posted on her Instagram stories last week.
“I work incredibly hard every day. I would give something to be out on the field right now. Basketball is my passion and everything to me … to say this you are not a real fan.

Brink, 23, has been sidelined since she tore ACL in her left knee during a June 2024 -fight against Connecticut Sun. She was an average of 8.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks a game before the injury.
