Lahore -Police Servants accused of extortion and robbed call center

A group of police officers in Lahore have been accused of compressing money from a call center.

The incident took place in jurisdiction for Civil Line’s police station, where a group of police officers in full uniform allegedly attacked a local call center, Express News reported.

According to the first information report (FIR), two officers, accompanied by their accomplices, entered the premises of the call center and branded weapons.

They then forced the staff to withdraw RS 300,000 (about USD 1,500) from an ATM.

After getting the money, the officers allegedly took RS 200,000 worth of laptops and other valuables before flinging from the stage.

The victim, a woman named Amber Nawaz, filed FIR, prompting the Civil Line police to investigate the matter.

Police managed to arrest five suspects, including two of the alleged police officers. Authorities have begun further lawsuits against the arrested suspects.

Last week, the police and the Citizens’ Police Committee arrested two suspects of allegedly demanding extortion from a hospital owner in Karachi’s Bilal Colony area. A dispenser who worked in the hospital was also involved in the crime.

The suspect, silent and umer, sent a extortion glip to Dr. Aqeel, the owner of Akhtar General Physician Hospital, within the Bilal Colony Police Station. The suspects had demanded RS0.8 million from the doctor. Together with the extortion note, the defendants had also sent a 9 mm bullet in an envelope as a threat in addition to sending a letter to Dr. Nazia and Dr. Aqeel who threatened to kill those whose extortion money was not paid.

The mobile phone and the SIM card used in the extortion case have been recovered from the accused possession. Police have also picked up the threatening conversation data.

Umer, who worked as a dispenser in the hospital, provided information about the owner and the clinic to the most important accused Tauseef. According to the settlement, Umer should get 50 percent of the extortion amount to provide the information
