Lahore is ready to open 10 model bazaars across the city as part of the preparations for the Holy Month Ramadan.
The markets aimed at delivering reduced and quality products to citizens under Ramadan will be created under the supervision of the district administration, Express News reported.
A meeting chairman of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore, Syed Musa Raza, was held to end the events for the upcoming Ramadan bassars.
According to the orientation, each of the 10 model bazaars will contain 10 stores – seven dedicated to selling fruits, vegetables, pulses, spices and other goods, while three will be focused on meat products.
In an attempt to make shopping more accessible, separate counters for women, the elderly and ordinary customers will be available.
This initiative is expected to improve the convenience and comfort, which ensures that everyone can act effectively.
The markets will offer items at wholesale prices with quality articles available to citizens. DC Lahore assured that goods will be sold at prices set by the Market Committee and suppliers will receive products at wholesale prices to keep costs down for consumers.
DC Lahore has instructed all preparations for Ramadan Bazaars to be completed by February 24, when the markets will open before the start of Ramadan to meet customers’ needs.
There will also be sufficient parking and cleanliness schemes to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
A few days ago, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government’s obligation to ensure the availability of important foods at affordable prices, making it a highest priority.
He instructed relevant authorities to devise a comprehensive strategy to guarantee the provision of food at reasonable prices in the Holy Month Ramadan.
When he spoke at the cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation between the federal and provincial governments to deliver affordable food to the public. He noted that cooperation is crucial to facilitating the burden of ordinary citizens.
