Islamabad: Pakistan replaces ambassadors in eight capitals, including Russia, Australia, Romania, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Niger, Kirgyzstan and Ireland, as part of a larger diplomatic shake. In addition, there are two generals for generals assigned to two significant consulates.
Aisha Farooqui, Pakistan’s ambassador to Ireland, will take Dr. Khalid Jamali’s position as Russia’s ambassador to Moscow. The current further foreign secretary of America, Maryam Aftab, will be sent to Ireland as ambassador.
Altamash Wazir Khan, Director -General Middle East at the Foreign Office, will be sent to Kyrgyzstan. To succeed with Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary as High Commissioner for Australia, Irfan Shaukat is traveling to Canberra.
Ilyas Nizamani would be published as ambassador to Romania, replacing Muhammad Arshad Jan Pathan. Tariq Kareem is considered for Myanmar as an ambassador replacing Imran Haider. Haider has been appointed High Commissioner for Bangladesh Vice Syed Ahmad Maroof. Shah Faisal Kakkar will be appointed ambassador to Niamey, Niger, replacing Ahmad Ali Sarohiee.
Mustafa Rabbani is sent out as Consul General to Jeddah, while Shahbaz Hussain Khokhar will be sent as Consul General to Montreal (Canada). Khokhar is currently serving as Director -General Europe at the Foreign Office.
The established envoy to Russia, Ambassador Khalid Jamali, who is one of the latest officers of the Foreign Service in Class 22, is likely to hang his gloves after the return to the headquarters. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhary is sent out as further foreign secretary, while Syed Ahmad Maroof is assigned an important responsibility in the foreign office when he returns to the headquarters, the sources say.
