Islamabad International Airport has achieved a significant milestone with the launch of its first cargo flights from China.
According to Express News, the first cargo flight from Uumqi, operated by SF Airlines, arrived at Islamabad Airport with over 25 tonnes of goods. The Chinese delegation was warmly welcomed by Chief Operating Officer (COO) and airport manager Aftab Gilani.
In a statement, Aftab Gilani emphasized that two cargo flights will work weekly with the possibility of further expansion in the future, while it emphasized that this initiative will strengthen the trade relations between Pakistan and China, two countries with long -term ties.
Gilani also mentioned that the commencement of cargo flights would not only increase trade but also lead to an increase in freight taxes, resulting in a significant increase in revenue for Pakistan Airport Authority.
This development is expected to improve the connection between Pakistan and China, which further facilitates the movement of goods and strengthens economic cooperation between the two nations.
