- A British retailer has a lot of stock of RDNA 4 GPUs ready for launch, which probably reflects the wider global image for accessibility
- It includes 4,000+ models, half of which is Sapphire graphics card
- While MSRPS is nicely beaten in the UK, which is encouraging, this will not contain – it is only for an initial few hundred models (subsidized by AMD)
AMDS RX 9070 XT will be sold later today, and there are several rumors that stock levels are relatively robust – and certain way that exceeds what Nvidia has managed to muster with its RTX 5000 GPUs.
Overclockers UK (OCUK) is an important dealer in this country and has a lot of RX 9070 XT models in stock, especially of the Sapphire Pulse model.

In fact, Adrian Thompson, a global senior VP for marketing at Sapphire, teased a photo of Ocuk’s Warehouse on X, as you can see above, with a ‘Borg Cube’ built from Sapphire Pulse RX 9070 XT GPUs.
And to doubters of X, as marked by Videocardz, Ocuk actually replied to confirm that this is a solid cube of graphics card (meaning the middle is not a hole, there are boxes throughout) and that it has over 1,000 units with this one sapphire model.
The dealer notes: “In fact, we have so much stock that we could build an armada of Borg Cubes virtually out of any model we have, and from all brands we have several thousand cards in stock that span Sapphire, PowerColor and Asrock, all of which have 1,000+ in stock of each fire.”
Further on this thread, Ocuk confirms that it has about 2,000 units RDNA 4 GPUs from Sapphire in stock with 1,000 from both PowerColor and Asrock, so it’s about 4,000+ for just a British dealer. I assume it’s across RX 9070 XT and Vanilla 9070 models.
The expected scenario is that this will be enough to walk around and the retailer thinks “stock will be fine for a few days,” so this should not be a flash-and-du-miss-it graphics card launch.
There is even better news, as the MSRPs are also lower than I also expected, and the said sapphire pulse model of the RX 9070 XT is originally listed (at the time of writing, a few hours before the launch) for £ 570. RX 9070 starts from £ 525 with also graphics cards on entry-level, so this is very promising.
Ocuk notes that this MSRP price will only have for the first few hundred units of each table sold, and that: “MSRP is uncovered quantity of a few hundred, so the prices will jump when sold through.”
Analysis: ample stock but expect MSRP boards quickly disappear
On the whole, this is good news for accessibility and the prospect that the AMDS RX 9070 models will not immediately sell out. And yes, this may be just a single British retailer, but it probably reflects a wider accessibility extensively – so far rumors have so far indicated that this is actually the case.
We have heard that RDNA 4 graphics card will have something like a normal amount of launch units from different sources now, so the overall picture is hopeful. Perhaps this will actually be the case that the AMDS RX 9070 models do not immediately sell out immediately, as Nvidia’s Blackwell GPUs certainly have – and many more punters get a chance to buy these products.
At what price, however, is the question and you might be wondering: How do OCUK only get the first few hundred boards on MSRP? This is because AMD gives retailers a discount on buying an initial amount of GPUs to effectively help ensure that there is a certain share on the official MSRP Come launch time. Remember that there is no reference RX 9070 graphics card made by AMD itself, which is guaranteed to be on MSRP, so consumers are completely dependent on third-party prices here. (In short, this is Team Red’s way to guarantee some MSRP storage).
For RX 9070 XT, I expected a request price of close to £ 600 in the UK, so the fact that the price of 570 pounds, the MSRP price mark will increase after an initial amount of GPUs has sold through is not really a surprise. It probably ends up at £ 600, or maybe even slightly higher considering OCUK’s use of the word ‘jump’, which doesn’t sound like a trivial climb.
As for the RTX 5070, which went yesterday yesterday, it panned the graphics card, just as the gloomy rumors of limited stock predicted – it sold out on a flash. Even Nvidia herself has delayed her Founder’s Edition, who missed the sale date yesterday, March 5, and now arrives until later this month.
Ocuk did not get any RTX 5070 stock at all before launching, and only expected some “small quantities of limited Skus” to arrive at the actual day’s day. All in all, it seems pretty hopeless because they would be RTX 5070 buyers, but as we point out in our review-this is not a good graphics card anyway.
Remember, precisely that fact could Stoke AMDS RX 9070 sales – we loved RX 9070 XT, which you may have seen – which means that even a relatively solid allocation of supply could sell faster than expected.
In any case, there will be many eyes on this RDNA 4 launch, which is now imminent. If you hope to pack one of these new graphics cards, you can check out our guide that highlights the best places to buy AMD RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 GPUs (which certainly includes over -clockers, for those in the UK).
