Last Stand on Eid Eve

There was a noticeable rush at Hair Salons on Sunday for Eidul Fitr. People of all ages visited salons to improve their appearance with haircuts and different types of facials and massage, where the men also chose beard trimming and shaving. The owner of a local hairdressing salon, Muhammad Saif, commented that Eid is a festive occasion on which people of all ages flock to salons to improve their face beauty and add a charming touch to their personalities. Older people chose simpler haircuts as well as shaving and beard trims, and some also colored their gray hair. Muhammad Saif further explained that the rates of haircut, coloring, shaving, beard trim and facial treatments vary across areas. Hair mower ranges from RS150 to RS1,000 and above, while beard trims cost between RS200 to RS500 or more. Furthermore, coloring can range from RS400 to RS2,000 or higher, while facials and massages start from the RS500 and can go over RS3,000. In middle -class areas are the rates for cutting, coloring or beard trim and shaving packages over the RS500, while these services in poor neighborhoods are available for as low as RS300. The owner also mentioned that many people had made prior bookings while some salons worked on one "First come, first served" basis. People even gave "Eidi" (gifts) for good service. A customer of a salon, Fayaz Yusuf, said that a person’s identity is determined not only through their manners, clothes and shoes, but also on their face, which is why people get haircuts, beard trims and shave for a fresher look. Rush continued in the salons late at night, enabling people to end their preparations before the Eid beans. Beauty salons in Metropolitan City run a roaring business as women rush to have a makeover after their choice for Eid-Ul-Fitr, the festival when families meet to celebrate the happy apartment. These beauty salons have expanded their opening hours to accommodate maximum customers to do most of the season. According to a study conducted by Express Pakinomist, young girls mostly go to beauty salons for picking, upper lips, haircuts, high lights, low lights, French pedicures, manicure, hair dye, hair mask, hair styling and different hair treatments, while older women prefer different facials and hardyrs. Women say EID preparations seem incomplete without a visit to the beauty salon. "In Karachi, the skin becomes hard due to dust and smoke in the environment," Says Ramsha, who was in Nadoz Parlor, in DHA, for LED Hydra Facial to look good on Eid. She adds that women are the center of attention when families and friends meet to celebrate the festival. "I also need to have a HARTOX for hair fans," Says Ramsha.
