- Instagram launches blends, a new custom point
- The idea is that you add this to a DM or Group Chat and see wheels that will appeal to the people who make up the group
- You can respond and add comments that live within DM
If you are something like me, you might spend too much time (though I will never admit it) to roll through wheels on Instagram and clip on Tiktok. But not surprisingly, Instagram wants to keep you inside the walls of its app and has a new feature that allows you to get a custom wheel to feed you and your friends.
Baptized mixing and launching right now you can create this custom feed for you and a friend and get served wheels that match both of your interests. It is an invitation wheel feed that you can roll within your chat window and answer at the bottom to beat a conversation about what you want.
And if you guess it is living within DMS, you would be right as this is where Instagram invites you to keep the conversation going. Further, if you are concerned that the wheels will live in line next to your messages, GIFs and potentially other shared wheels … don’t fear.
Mixture lives via an icon at the top of the chat that looks like a fusion of two basic emojis. You will tap it to access your blend, which is a mixed feed of wheels that hit your interests, and this is also where you can invite someone to join your mix.
Another important note – you can’t force someone to join your mix on Instagram; Whoever you invite will have to accept it. Instagram also says you can create mixtures for you and another person or for a group of people.
This is how the mixture works
So once you have created a mix with, for example, two of your besties, you will open that group message within Instagram and press the new icon next to the call buttons in the upper right of the chat.
Tap it and you will be brought to your customized wheel’s feed. It has to look pretty similar. You will see the real -day username, the sound used, an excerpt of the caption and the ability to suffer, comment and even share it.
The difference is that you will see a bubble that says “suggested to [insert username here]”So Instagram will point you to who it thinks will like the roll the most. And yes, this is based on the wheels you’ve been engaged to and what Instagram knows about you.
More specifically, Instagram says “Suggested is based on each person’s activity on Instagram, including the wheels they see and interact with. They may also be based on wheels sent in the chat.”
When you roll, if you feel compelled, you can send a message back to your group about the wheel you see or even drop a reaction like an emoji. For example, if it’s a special epic, you can use four emoji.
It’s pretty nice and a new way to explore wheels with friends of your own time while still interacting with each other. Not for nothing, you don’t have to risk stock playing on iOS or screensharing on Android, without knowing what might be shown in your regular feed.
Since this is based on your interests, your friends may be teaching something – the ones I invite to mix will know that I like Bruce Springsteen, Disney Parks, Lego and Star Wars.
That’s the risk of the mixture: It essentially shows your Instagram -wheel interests for a friend (provided they accepted the invitation). If you are ready for the fun and the challenge, try Instagram’s latest feature as it is rolling out now.
Just make sure the Instagram app on your iOS or Android device is up to date.
