The ongoing protest from lawyers in Hyderabad has caused major disturbances in traffic flow, especially affecting the most important routes that connect Karachi, Punjab and rural Sindh.

The demonstration, which began at Wadhu Wah Gate on Hyderabad -by Pass, has led to a complete stop in traffic.

The protest caused significant disturbance on the key city pass road that connects the Karachi Hyderabad motorway with national highway, created long vehicle queues, leaving passengers stranded and distressed.

The protest stems from a legal conflict between the local police and the Law Society after the registration of a case against Ali Raza spokesman for having used a false license plate.

The lawyers have demanded the transfer of SSP Hyderabad Farukh Lanjhar and the dismissal of Sho from Bhittai Nagar police station.

They also want the fraud case against the Law Society to be withdrawn.

As the protest intensified, the traffic disorder affected not only daily commuters, but also long -distance travelers, which resulted in significant disadvantage and delays.

Sindh High Court Bar Association President, spokesman for Ayaz Hussain Tunio, made it clear that if their claims are not met, they will expand their protest across the country.

Senior lawyers, including lawyer Sajjad Ahmed Chandio, claimed that the question is about maintaining the rule of law, not just a question between police and lawyers.

Attorney KB Lutf Ali Laghari warned that the lawyers can initiate a nationwide movement, similar to that in 2007 for the restoration of the former Chief Justice IFTIKHAR Muhammad Chaudhry if their demand for SSP Lanjar’s removal is not fulfilled.

On the other hand, the Sindh police have insisted on resolving the issue of legal means. They have proposed a legal investigation monitored by the District Session’s judge in Hyderabad to investigate the matter.

Despite these efforts, the protest continues to stay strong, with both sides that are stuck in their positions.

Police claim that FIR is part of a crash on vehicles with smart plates, tinted windows and police lights, with about 50 FIRs recently filed for similar offenses.

However, the lawyers reject this explanation and claim that it was a personal retaliation of SSP Lanjar after his vehicle was overtaken.

Earlier on Wednesday, the district police officials responded to the lawyer’s protest within the SSP office by submitting requests for leave, which effectively gave up their charges of police stations and various police units.

SINDH Information Secretary of Pakistan Peoples Party, former Senator Aajiz Dhamrah, visited the protesters on Thursday night. He sat with them on the road and listened patiently when lawyer Laghari told the lawyers’ complaints.
