Rawalpindi:
At least 30 terrorists have been eliminated in three separate military engagements in Khyber -Pakhtunkhwa – a province where the security situation remains unstable because of its proximity to Afghanistan, where terrorists appear to have free reins to orchestrate attacks inside Pakistan.
“On January 24, 2025, thirty Khwarij was killed in three separate engagements in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province,” the military’s media wing, ISPR, said in a statement on Saturday night.
The military uses the term “Khwarij” about terrorists from the forbidden umbrella of violent groups who have found secure places of refuge in Afghanistan after their Rutt from the former tribal belt in the military operation in 2014 with the codename Zarb-e-Azb.
By sharing details of the military engagements, ISPR stated that an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was performed by security forces in Lakki Marwat district.
“During the performance of the operation, his own troops effectively engaged in a Khwarij site, and as a result, 18 Khwarij was sent to hell, while six Khwarij was injured,” it is added.
Another IBO was carried out by security forces in the nearby Karak District. “In the subsequent exchange of fire, eight Khwarij was effectively neutralized by the security forces,” the ISPR declared declaration.
Meanwhile, a third military engagement took place in the Bagh area of the Khyber district, where security forces “successfully neutralized four Khwarij, including Kharji Hovedmen Azizur Rehman, alias Qari Ismail, and Kharji Mukhlis, while two Khwarij were injured.”
According to ISPR, weapons and ammunition were also found from the dead terrorists who were actively involved in several terrorist activities in the area against security forces as well as innocent civilians.
“Sanitization operations are performed to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area,” the military’s media wing said, repeating the security forces’ decision to wipe out the threat of terrorism from the country.
The IBOs came two days after security forces neutralized six terrorists in the Zhob district in Balochistan, preventing their attempt to sneak into Pakistan from Afghanistan. “The night between the 22nd and 23rd of January, the movement of a group of Khwarij, who tried to infiltrate through the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, was captured by the security forces in the Sambaza area in Zhob,” ISPR said on Thursday.
“Own troops engaged effectively and disrupted their attempts to infiltrate. It resulted in six Khwarij being sent to hell. A large amount of weapons, ammunition and explosives were also found,” it added.
Pakistan has consistently asked the temporary government of Afghanistan to ensure effective border management on their side of the border. “The Afghan temporary government is expected to fulfill its obligations and deny Khwarij’s use of Afghan Earth to maintain terrorist acts against Pakistan,” ISPR said.
President Asif Ali Zardari praised the security forces for their bravery in eliminating terrorists in the successful operations in the Lakki Marwat, Karak and Khyber districts.
“The killing of 30 terrorists in various operations is a significant holding for the security forces,” the president said in a statement issued by his office. President Zardari assured that security operations will continue until the extermination of terrorists. He confirmed Pakistan’s unwavering obligation to remove terror elements.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for successful operations against Fitna Al-Al-Al-Al-Al-Al-Al-Al-Al-Lakki Marwat, Karak and Khyber.
He valued security forces to eliminate 30 Khawarij terrorists during the operations. He said the whole nation stood together with the security forces of the war against terrorism. He said the government was determined to remove all forms of terrorism from the country.
