Islamabad:

The country’s leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on Tuesday condemned the terrorist attack on Jaffar Express in Balochistan and appreciated the security forces for their effective and timely reaction.

The president paid tribute to the value of security forces for saving passengers in Jaffar Express and said attacks on innocent civilians and passengers were inhuman and condemnable actions. The president said that neither religion nor a society allowed such disgusting acts.

The Baloch nation strongly opposed the elements that had taken unarmed passengers, elders and children hostage, he said, according to a press release from the President’s Secretariat Press Wing. The president asked for the early recovery of those who sustained injuries during the attack.

Prime Minister Shehbaz said, according to a separate press release issued from the Prime Minister’s office wing, that security forces’ officers and staff eliminated terrorists bravely during the ongoing reaction.

“Despite a difficult terrain, the morals of the security force are high and they push the cowardly terrorists back with their timely action,” Shehbaz said. He expressed hope that the security operation would soon meet successfully and the terrorists would be removed.

Shehbaz said inhuman terrorists launched the Feige assault on Jaffar Express at Dhadhar-Bolan Pass, did not deserve any admission. “Terrorists are enemies of progress and development in Balochistan province,” he said.

“Targeting against innocent passengers in the holy and blessed month of Ramazanul Mubarak it clearly proves that terrorists have no relationship with Islam, Pakistan and Balochistan,” he added. He promised that the fight against terrorism would continue until it is complete extinction of this ghost from the country.

Any conspiracy to spread chaos and lawlessness in the country would be foiled, he continued, emphasizing that the government would never allow the nation to succeed in their dishonest design. “In this fight against terrorism, the whole nation stands shoulder to shoulder with security forces.”

Previously, Shehbaz, who was addressed to this federal cabinet meeting, spoke a revival of terrorism in the country and acknowledged that the law enforcement authorities (Leaes) along with the armed forces made major victims on a daily basis to remember.

“Without complete peace, the dream of development and prosperity is evasive. It is tapping staff in the police, armed forces and ranks give ultimate victims, and the nation will have to remember it,” the prime minister said.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin condemned the incident and said, “The animals firing on innocent passengers do not deserve any concessions”. Sindh Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar also condemned the incident strongly.

“The abominable plans for anti-national and antisocial elements are never allowed to be allowed to be allowed,” he said in a statement. “The Sindh government is standing with the Balochistan Government. He hoped the police and other leas will bring this situation under control.

Senate’s chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani and the National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said in their separate statements that those targeted at innocent civilians were not only the enemies of the nation, but of humanity themselves.

They strongly condemned the fair attempt to undermine the country’s peace and stability and emphasized that such anti-State elements would be treated firmly and resolutely. They said the evil design of the enemies would be affolated.

“Attacks on passengers in Dhadar are a crime against humanity and those in charge should be punished seriously.” Said Gilani. “Terrorists cannot shake the national determination with such feige actions. The nation is united and the evil intentions of the enemies will be crushed,” he added.

He confirmed his full support to the security forces and called for effective measures to eliminate elements seeking to destabilize the country. “The nation is in solidarity with passengers’ families in this difficult time,” he added.

Former Senate President Sadiq Sanjrani also strongly condemned Jaffer Express -attack and said that targeting unarmed passengers during the holy month was a fair act. “The government and security forces work for the hostage’s safe return,” Sanjrani said.
