- Apple’s A19 Pro Chip is incredibly fast, leaked benchmarks suggest
- The results show that it surpasses desktop processors in single-core tests
- However, PC chips get over in multi-core benchmarks
Apple’s iPhone chips are already down the fastest mobile offers on the market, but their performance gains have been so good that they even start challenging respectable desktop chips and it seems that the A19 Pro in the latest iPhone 17 Pro will continue this trend.
As discovered by Leaker Jukanlosreve on X, a chip claimed to be the A19 Pro recently a Geekbench 6-Core score of 3,895, along with a multi-core score of 9,746. Although we cannot independently verify this score – iPhones containing the iPhone 17 Pro, only launched on September 19 – it seems to be an incredibly impressive result if it is accurate.
That’s because it surpasses Qualcomm’s rival Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip with a significant 36% and offers an 11% uptick over the single-core benchmark obtained by its A18 Pro predecessor (the chip found in the iPhone 16 Pro series).
This means that if you are looking for the fastest smartphone money that can buy, an Apple device is equipped with the A19 Pro Road to go. IPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air all come with this chip (although iPhone Air’s version has a fewer graphics compared to its sibling devices).
Streets in front
What is even more conspicuous is that the A19 Pro’s single-core score goes toe to toe with desktop-class chips like AMD Ryzen 9 9950x, Intel Core I9-14900KS and Apple’s own M4, noticed by Tom’s Hardware. It gives some credibility to Apple’s claim that the A19 Pro packages in “MacBook Pro Levels of Computer.”
According to Toms Hardware, the A19 Pro is just under 12% faster than AMD Ryzen 9 9950x and about 16% faster than Intel Core I9-14900KS in one-core benchmarks. Given that it is top-end desktop processors, it is a remarkable performance.
That said, you shouldn’t expect the A19 Pro to wipe out desktop chips when it comes to multi-core performance, and both AMD and Intel’s offer come out on top here-so it’s not time to sell your PC yet.
Still, the benchmark results show what an extraordinary engineering job Apple has done with its A19 Pro Chip. When it comes to mobile performance, Apple is the streets in front.
