- A leaked CAD picture suggests that the iPhone 17 -Setup could receive major design changes
- IPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max may get a new, longer camera and a two-tone back panel
- IPhone 17 -luft could also get a camera line for its single camera
Although Apple, once known for pushing the limits of technical design, in recent years Apple has played it safely with even the best iPhones, generally leans into the trend of homogeneous, neutral plate, which some find pleasantly minimal and others, Finding up boring (like a recent Techradar voting confirms).
But if a new leak is to be believed, this can all be set to change, with the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max tilted to be the subject of some large – and most likely controversial – design changes.
Noted Leaker Majin BU has shared what seems to be a leaked CAD mockup of iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max on X (formerly Twitter), with caption just to read “iPhone 17 Lineup Cad ”.
CAD stands for computer -supported design, and documents in this format are used to dictate the shape and measurements of a product for automated assembly line.
Although the base iPhone 17 model seems near enough unchanged from the current generation of the iPhone 16, the other three models are displayed, either new or showing some serious changes.
First, the phone looks to the left of the picture to be the brand new and very rumored iPhone 17 Air. The picture shows the new phone as a sporting a single-lens camera system mounted on a wide Pixel-style bar that protrudes from its slimming chassis.
We had previously heard rumors that the iPhone 17 air would contain a camera line in black to contrast against the rest of the device, so this latest leaking suits our current expectations.
As for the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, the leak suggests that there may be three main changes coming to the design of Apple’s highest end handsets.
The first two relate to the camera system: At the appearance of things, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have a camera line similar to the iPhone 17 Air, although it is obviously expanded to make room for the iconic triple camera system. What seems to be the Lidar sensor and the flash module has both moved to the far right side of this elongated camera bushes.
An image that allegedly shows the iPhone 17 Pro and a new clear case shared into X (formerly Twitter) by Tipster Sonny Dickson also has this new camera sting, with cuts to the Lidar sensor and flash on the right.
The third change is the one I bet on will have most Apple fans up in the weapon-cad reproduction shows a separate cut in the middle of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max’s Back Panel, which could suggest a two-tone colorway or Using another material.
Given that even small changes to iPhone design-as the benefits that switch to the titanium rails or change call Switch to the action button can cause a storm of debate, it obviously seems a two-tone iPhone would cause an explosion of Apple -Diskurs.
Personally, I like it when phone manufacturers become weird, and there’s no easier way to do this than by shaking the design up – though I can see why people may want to see Apple release something more subtle after years of smaller iterations.
In any case, we do not expect to hear anything official about the iPhone 17 setup until much later in the year – as it says, the above is based solely on rumors. What do you think though? Is the iPhone family because of a design shake? Or should Apple continue to play it safely? Tell us that in the comments below.
