LeBron James practiced his player attitude for the 2025-26 season with Los Angeles Lakers Sunday as he seems to be in the last stages of his long NBA career.
Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul told Espn about James’ decision. The player setting is reportedly worth $ 52.6 million and it will be his eighth season in Los Angeles.

James played 70 games in the 2024-25 season. It was the second straight year he played at least 70 games. He average 24.4 points, 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds per Battle when Lakers put together one of the more exciting seasons in recent memory.
Los Angeles made the wise trade for Luka Doncic, who sent Anthony Davis to Dallas Mavericks. Doncic and James will now have more time to get together and play for an NBA championship together at least again. Lakers were 50-32 last season and finished in third place at the western conference, but was removed in the first round of the final game of Minnesota Timberwolves.
Paul told Espn that James will win and will see Lakers’ moving close to building a warring list.
“LeBron will compete for a championship,” he said. “He knows that Lakers is building for the future. He understands it, but he appreciates a realistic chance of winning it all. We are highly valued by the partnership we have had for eight years with Jeanie (Buss) and Rob (Pelinka) and consider Lakers a critical part of his career.

“We understand the difficulty of winning now as we prepare for the future. We want to evaluate what is best for lebron at this point in his life and career. He will do every season he has left and Lakers understands it is supportive and want the best for him.”
For James it will be year 23. He has four championships, four NBA MVPs and 21 All-Star elections.
He opened up how much he has left to give in an interview with Associated Press earlier this month, and credited his family as one of the main reasons he continues to play. Bronny James is in Lakers’ organization and Bryce James is ready to play in Arizona. Zhuri James, meanwhile, has put his sights on volleyball.
“They are like ‘Dad, Continue with your dream. This is your dream. Continue with your focus. You’ve been here for us all this time,’ he said.” When you have that type of support … make it much easier. “
James also seemed to be fascinated by the opportunity to play with Bryce James as well as bronny.

“At this point in my career you think about when the ending is. It’s human nature,” he said. “You think: Is it this year? Or next year? These thoughts are always creeping into your mind at this time on the journey. But I have not given it a specific schedule, date. I see how my body and family react too.”
