A bill in Connecticut has been introduced that will allow sports games on aircraft set to depart or arrive at the state, despite other states laws on betting.
State representative Christopher Rosario presented the bill on Wednesday. However, federal laws could prevent the bill from advancing, including the Gambling Devices Act of 1962, which prohibits the use of gaming equipment on commercial flights.
But since betting can be placed with a fingerprint, lawyer Daniel Wallach does not see it as an obstacle.

“A mobile phone is not a gambling device,” Wallach told Front Office Sports. “A mobile phone doesn’t decide winners or losers; it’s just a means of communication. No different from a pencil that writes your name on a gaming coupon and hand it to an agent. [The act] Does not prohibit money games; It prohibits gambling units. ”
The biggest problem is perhaps the fact that there is a dozen states that have kept sports games illegal. 37 states have made it legal as a certain property within the last decade. The Federal Wire Act of 1961 says interstat game is prohibited.
Delta Air Lines seems to be close to working with Draftkings, which has become a power center for sports gambling after starting as a daily fantasy company.

Eilers & Krejcik, an independent analysis company, conducted a new study showing that sports betting would pay for the state of Texas, where sports betting remains illegal.
The study, “Legal Online Sports Betting in Texas: Revenue Forecast and Economic Impact Analysis,” estimates the market can generate over $ 360 million in direct tax revenue to the state, while adding over 8,000 jobs.

The report estimates that Texas will benefit from over $ 2.6 billion annually in economic production, adding that tax revenue that is not gambling generated from legal sports betting is expected to amount to $ 24.3 million a year.
