- Lenovo’s “Codename Flip” Thinkbook is an 18.1-inch folding OLED AI-LASTABLE Computer
- It offers five different conditions for multitasking, collaboration and creative workflows
- Still a concept for now with no details of price, availability or durability
Obviously, Lenovo loves to “think differently” just as Apple once did. On CES 2025, it took the wrapping of the Thinkbook Plus Gen 6 Rollbar, the world’s first laptop with a scroll screen, and now on the MWC 2025, it shows the thinkbook “Codename Flip” laptop that combines two 13-inch OLED screens for a giant 18.1-inch screen.
It looks amazing and I definitely want one, but I’m worried that it may be pretty too easy to break in real life.
We actually wrote about Thinkbook Flip in January 2025, but at that time many of the details of the laptop have not yet been revealed. Although Lenovo describes the device as an important highlight of its MWC 2025 plans, there are some questions left, although at least we have more information about it than before.
A choice of states
The 18.1-inch OLED screen is designed to support AI-driven workflows and adaptable work areas and unfold, allowing users to switch between a compact 13-inch laptop and a vertical expanded work area for multitasking and collaboration.
Lenovo says Flip will offer five different conditions. Clamshell mode acts as a traditional laptop setup, while vertical mode is designed to review documents. Sub-state is for the collaboration with double-view, tablet mode is for creative tasks, and reading state provides a distraction-free reading experience.
Powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, with 32 GB LPDDR5X memory and PCIe SSD storage, includes the unit Thunderbolt 4 ports for fast data transfer and a fingerprint reader for business class security.
Lenovo says the device will offer AI-powered multitasking features, such as Workspace Split Screen, which allows users to run multiple applications side by side without needing external screens. Smart Courtpad introduces a three-layered dashboard, adding numeric keys and media controls to intuitive operation.
Thinkbook “Codename Flip” is described as a preview of the future of AI-powered hybrid working environments that mix flexible design with AI-enhanced productivity tools. Because it is still a concept, there is no word about accessibility, pricing, or whether screen insurance will be offered as peace of mind for the terminal butterfinger – hopefully more details will be revealed in the coming months.
