LHC rejects immediate suspension

Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected a request to immediately suspend certain sections of the PECA amendment to 2025 and seeks answers from the relevant authorities of a petition that contested the constitutionality of the law. Justice Farooq Haider noted while he was chairman of the case that only one decision would be made after hearing all parties affected. The judge then issued messages to the respondents and instructed them to submit their answers within three weeks. The petition was filed by Jaffar bin Yar through his lawyer Nadeem Sarwar, with respondents who include the Federation of Pakistan through the Ministry of Law and Cabinet Division, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications and PTA through its chairman.
