LHC rejects petition against DAR’s appointment

Lahore:

Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday announced his reserved verdict on an intra-court appeal that contested the appointment of Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to Deputy Prime Minister and rejected the petition as non-persistent.

A bench with two members led by justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal maintained the previous decision from the individual bench, which had also rejected the placement.

The Court noted that the Constitution, the Constitution, allows the Prime Minister to award any position to a MP or a senior person.

The detailed judgment will be handed down later.

During the consultation, further lawyer Nasar Ahmad Appellen opposed a citizen, Ashba Kamran. The petition had appointed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and others as respondents.
