Islamabad High Court has overturned a life sentence assigned to the abduction of children and rape, acquiring the penalty on the basis of reasonable doubt.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani handed a detailed judgment that canceled the court’s decision, who had sentenced the defendant, Saleem Ghouri, to life prison along with a fine of RS50,000.
According to the verdict, disagreements in handling and custody of forensic evidence understood the credibility of the prosecution. In addition, the implementation of important prosecution quarters and the complainant was considered unreliable.
