- LinkedIn wants to use AI to determine your best job results – not specific keywords
- “The core problem in the job search today is discovery,” says LinkedIn CPO
- You can also get a job crate result that highlights the forces and skill holes
LinkedIn has added even more AI tools to the job search area on its platform, giving users access to millions of lists on the site with simpler and more natural prompt.
The tool works by understanding the intention behind the job seeker’s search, says Jobstedet, who by using AI reduces the search functionality its dependence on specific keyword matching, which improves the relevance and quality of the search results without users having to manufacture and tailor their searches for the machine.
LinkedIn CPO Tomer Cohen explained how users can enter requests such as “I’m looking for business development roles in the video game industry” to find similar matches.
LinkedIn uses AI to improve the job seeker result result relevance
“The core problem in the job search today is discovery – often requiring an understanding of the right keywords, filters and the difficulties of the system itself,” Cohen explained.
In addition to improving the effectiveness of the search, LinkedIn also makes changes to how it matches users with jobs, allowing applicants to assess their care before applying by showing them how well they fit a role and highlights their strengths and skills.
Again, the Microsoft-owned platform uses AI to reduce users’ dependence on specific keywords, this time by understanding implicit skills-for example, web developers are likely to know HTML, even if not stated.
“Premium subscribers are gaining even deeper insight, including job campaigns and actionable suggestions to stand out in an increasingly competitive job market,” Cohen explained.
Among the other updates coming to LinkedIn are personalized AI Coaching with action feedback and a career journey to determine a personal learning plan for workers looking for a career change -both tools are only available to premium subscribers.
In addition to its paid services, LinkedIn occasionally makes some of its courses for free, with its 10 most popular AI training courses currently free until the end of June 2025.
