Detroit Lions hoped that a long drive to start their Sunday evening match against Kansas City Chiefs should end up with a touchdown – and it almost did.

Lions got the ball down to Chiefs’ 1-yard line after driving Jahmyr Gibbs back from scoring the third down. The team decided to try a 4th-and-goal touchdown.

Lions Quarterback Jared Goff was under the center of running back David Montgomery behind him. He decided to break out to the left when Montgomery received Snap. The veteran, who runs back, threw the ball to Goff, who bubbled it before recovering control and entering the final zone of what was thought to be a touchdown.

However, the officials talked about and threw a penalty for illegal movement. Goff, according to “Sunday Night Football” rules -Analyst Terry McAulay, had to pause for a moment before he started moving in motion. The result was taken out of the board.

Detroit chose a field goal and went up 3-0. It was a 15-play, 61-yard drive to start the game.

Lions came into the game with a 4-1 record. Detroit has been the highest scored team in the NFL this season. After putting 13 points in a loss 1 loss to Green Bay Packers, Detroit has scored at least 34 points in each of their last four games.

It didn’t look like the lions were willing to pull their foot from the accelerator against the bosses.
