LL Cool J is set to host 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.
The 57-year-old rap star, who is also a nominee at this year’s ceremony, would take responsibility for the event held in New Yorks UBS Arena.
Hip Hop Hitmaker has previously hosted MTV VMAS in 2022 with Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow.

In 2023 he was part of MTV VMAS ‘celebration of Hip Hop’s 50 -Year anniversary, and by 2024 he helped mark DEF JAM Recordes 40 -Year anniversary at the awards show.
This year, his single, Mord Gram Deux – which also contains Eminem – has been nominated in the best hip hop category.
He would compete against Doechii’s Anxiety, Drake Nokia, Eminem and Jelly Roll’s Someone saves me, Glorilla and Sexyy Red’s Whatchu kno about me and Kendrick Lamar’s Not like us.
It is also relevant to mention that Lady Gaga is the artist with the most nominations for 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, nodding in 12 categories.
Bruno Mars earned 11 nominations while Kendrick Lamar got 10.
Rosé and Sabrina Carpenter have eight nominations each, including in larger categories such as the best pop and artist of the year.
