This can just be the summer to Kade Anderson.

The left -handed pitcher was the ace for the LSU baseball team, which just won its second College World Series in three years -that the 2023 team was staffed by MLB Phenom and Cy Young Award candidate Paul Skenes.

Well, Anderson might just follow right in Skrenes’ shoes as he is in the conversation to be the top overall election of next month’s MLB draft.

As Skenes did in 2023, Anderson worked a “shift” at a local breeding of Cane’s to celebrate his title on Wednesday.

“It’s so cool. I have a really good experience. It’s been an explosion so far,” Anderson told Pakinomist Digital recently. “Just the tradition of LSU, it’s super exciting to be part of this. It’s been a dream of mine growing up and being able to work with Raising Cane’s, it’s really something special.”

Anderson has not reached his former teammate (Anderson did not play in 2023 when he recovered from Tommy John Surgery, whom he had in his senior year in high school) about the upcoming draft process, but he did not shake away from the opportunity.

“He’s a really good guy, he thinks good, and throughout the process I might come on a call with him,” Anderson said.

Of course, this process is crazy. Over the past few years, summer had been the beginning of Anderson’s season. This year, however, he is in the midst of his baseball calendar, though he just threw the most important game of his life just last week.

Anderson will hear his name called on July 13 and will go directly to the smaller leagues to officially begin his quest to become a great Leagu.

It may be overwhelming, but Anderson doesn’t seem to have anything too much.

“I want to take that day by day. I’m not really sure what will happen, but I’m just trying to take it all in, be where my feet are, and whatever the future has, I’m really excited about it.”

Anderson looked up to a 3.18 era in 19 starts, went 12-1 and knocked out 180 fighters in 119 laps. In his Lone College World Series outing, he threw a shutout, knocked out 10 and allows only three hits over his 130 seats.

Washington Nationals owns the first election in the MLB draft – they first chose in 2009 and 2010 and chose Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper respectively.
