LSU Tigers is aiming to get back to the mountain top and their start could not have been much better.
In their season opener they then took down-no. 4 Clemson on the road, 17-10. With two more wins since then, LSU has gone from No. 9 at the beginning of the season up to the third ranked team in the country.
“Can’t complain from 3-0,” said LSU-wide receiver Chris Hilton Jr. In a recent interview with Pakinomist Digital.

Hilton said the tigers have a “go 1-0 every week” thinking, but it was six years since LSU started his season with a win, as he said was a “good feeling.”
However, expectations were automatically higher. Garrett Nussmeier is in his second full season starting after replacing Jayden Daniels. Nussmeier had to wait for his turn, and Hilton himself has in his fifth season of LSU 22 career receptions, albeit with a crazy big-play ability.
“I’m pretty sure it was a little understood when you come to a place like this, you expect competition in these rooms. That’s what you’re coming to LSU for,” Hilton admitted.
But Hilton’s new NIL Agreement with Popeyes reflects patience and hard work. The restaurant’s new campaign, by loading a list of 10 college athletes, is going out to celebrate college -football athletes who embody the pursuit of “better” this football season.

“I really collaborated with popeyes in search of being better on and off the field. It’s me and nine other guys, and we’re just celebrating what comes into the season. It’s their persecution of being better. Being an athlete, that’s what we’re proud of, and constant improvement. So it means a lot to me,” he said.
However, the same trait can be said for Nussmeier, Hilton said.
“Me and Nuss, we’ve been together since our first year, so we’ve got that chemistry. He’s really good. The biggest thing for him is the role he has taken as a leader. Just to see him taking the step as a leadership aspect, it’s been nice to see,” he said.
A quarter of the regular season has already been completed, and exclusively unforeseen circumstances will the tigers compete for a national championship in the 12-team playoffs this year.
But Hilton won’t look ahead yet.

“I say the biggest thing for us right now, of course, is the team morality high as 3-0 right now. I would say you just can’t look too far to the future,” he said. “You have to block all the outside noise. There will be people who say good things and bad things about teams. It just comes with the sport. But we have to focus on the current task that is a game every week.”
