As police turned their attention elsewhere during the month of Ramazan, members of Lyari’s infamous gangs exploited the situation to move out of their fortresses in the old city neighborhoods to beat in other quarters of Metropolitan City.

A confectionery store in sector 11-D recorded a case on behalf of local market dealers at the new Karachi police station under various sections, including extortion and death threats.
According to him, two armed suspects arrived on a motorcycle on the market around 10 p.m. 21 Tuesday evening and demanded RS100,000 in extortion from each shop owner. When they said they could not pay them such heavy amounts, the suspected fire opened.

People kill alleged robber
