The National Assembly was informed on Friday that the Hyderabad-Sukkur Expressway (M-6) project is progressing through multiple financing and partnership arrangements, with various sections expected to be completed between 2028 and 2029
Responding to questions during Question Time, the Parliamentary Communications Secretary said: “It is expected that various parts of the project will be completed in 2028-2029.”
He said the project was discussed at the Joint Working Group (JWG) on Communications meeting held on September 3, 2024 and later reviewed at the Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting in Beijing on September 26, 2025.
The secretary said Pakistan had invited Chinese companies to participate in the bidding process for M-6 and two additional sections planned under Public Private Partnership (PPP).
He informed the House that the National Highway Authority (NHA) had initially signed a PPP agreement for the M-6 in December 2022, with completion initially targeted for December 2025, including six months for financial closure.
