- Apple’s new 13-inch MacBook Air with M4 starts at $ 999 or $ 1,199 for 15-inch
- The previous generation of MacBook Air with M3 is disconnected
- The even earlier M2 MacBook Air, which previously started at $ 999 will live on via other retailers
New Apple devices typically mean that the previous generation falls to a lower price point or ceases completely. But with Mac lineup – especially MacBook – when Apple Silicon hit the stage, some of the older models have a way of staying around.
With the launch of the new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air with M4, Apple interrupts 13-inch and 15-inch M3 MacBook Air. Before launching, there was some talk about the 13-inch version of the laptop that stayed around, but Apple’s total price drop causes waves as this model is interrupted.
As the starting price of the 13-inch MacBook Air with M4 is $ 999 in the US, Apple takes the 13-inch MacBook Air with M2 from its virtual and physical store shelves.
But here things get interesting. Like the M1 MacBook Air – which is still an incredible deal from retailers like Walmart – the M2 MacBook Air will be available from selected retailers – also other purchase channels – in selected countries, including the United States.
Furthermore, it will be cheaper than the starting cost of the M4 MacBook Air.
This means you can get a modern MacBook Air design with M2 speeds and other tricks at an excellent price. You just have to be okay without sky blue, but hello, you can still get it in room gray.
In fact, Amazon in the US from this history release has the 13-inch MacBook Air with M2-Chip, 16 GB RAM and 256 GB of Solid-State Storage in Midnight for only $ 699 – A cute 30% discount on the previous MSRP of $ 999. Plus, you get free quick shipping if you are a prime member.
If you need it Starlight or Space Gray The same configuration is $ 799which is still an appointment but not so big discount. Corresponding Silver version is much more expensive for $ 924only 8% discount.
While Apple has not announced or confirmed the price of what the M2 MacBook Air will normally be on through these channels, the M1 MacBook Air can give us a good idea. Since its Walmart -Exclusivity, it has regularly had a list price of $ 699, but has almost always been reduced further. Right now, in silver, room gray or gold, It’s only $ 629 for the M1 chip, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB Fasting Statement.
So if you don’t need the latest chip from Apple, the smart new shade of sky blue (although nice) or a center -taking -capable camera, M2 should be definitely considered at least. Especially since it comes as standard with 16 GB of RAM, which is much better than the previous 8 GB.
