Maine -Employees filed a lawsuit against the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Monday following the Agency’s decision to freeze the financing to the state for its rejection of turning its transking athlete participation policy in schools.

“During the banner of keeping children in safety, Trump’s administration is unleashed to be granted aid funding that goes to keep the children fed,” said Maine Attorney General Aaron Frey in a news announcement. “This is just another example where no law or consequence seems to limit administration as it seeks capitulation to its lawlessness.
“The president and his cabinet secretaries do not constitute the law, and they are not above the law, and this act is necessary to remind the president that Maine will not be bullied to violate the law.”
Frey added that Funding Freeze was “illegal” and sought a temporary restriction order against the department from the detention of the funds.

The USDA announced financing freezing and a review of federal funding for Maine after the state refused to provide equal opportunities for women and girls in educational programs.
The state has refused to comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order to ban trans athletes from girls and women’s sports, causing enormous federal pressure. Trump initially promised to reduce federal funding to the state if it refused to comply with the order during a 20th February speech.

USDA secretary Brooke Rollins said the state must accept to protect female athletes from trans -cluttering before funding is restored.
“To continue receiving taxpayers’ dollars from the USDA, the state Maine must demonstrate compliance with title IX that protects female students athletes from having to compete with or against or should be shown unclear before men,” Rollins wrote in a letter to the state.
“In addition, the USDA has launched a full review of grants awarded by the Biden administration to the Maine Department of Education. Many of these grants appear to be wasting, redundant or otherwise against the priorities of the Trump administration. The USDA will not stand for the Biden administration’s bloated bureaucracy and instead focus on a department that is a bond. Agenda. “
Frey claimed that the “Children’s Nutrition Program from the Maine Department of Education was unable to access several sources of federal funding, all needed to feed children and vulnerable adults” after Rollins signaled that financing freezing would not affect programs that keep children fed.
