Two Pakistani army staff, including a major, were martyrated in a pistol fight with terrorists in the MIR Ali area of North Waziristan, Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
The clash took place during an intelligence-based operation performed by security forces on the night of 29-30. January. According to the military’s media wing, Pakistani troops were effectively engaged during surgery a terrorist hiding, resulting in the death of six militants.
The martyred soldiers were identified as Major Hamza Israr, 29, from Rawalpindi who led his troops in the operation, and Sepoy Muhammad Naeem, 26, from Naseerabad. Both men were recognized for their courage and ultimate victim in the duty of duty.

After the clash, security forces launched a sanitization operation in the area to eliminate remaining terrorists.

A day ago, security forces successfully averted a terrorist attack on a security post in the Gulistan area of Balochistan’s Qila Abdullah district during the night of January 27-28.
The terrorists tried to break the perimeter with the help of an explosive vehicle after their first assault was rejected, according to a statement from ISPR.
