Malcolm-Jamal Warner who played Theo Huxtable in Cosby -Show, has died at 54 after drowning off the coast of Costa Rica.
According to reports, he was on vacation with his family as he swam near Cocles, a beach in Limón, a province of the Central American country.
Costa Rica National Police told news sites that a strong stream drew him deeper into the sea, resulting in his death of asphyxia.
Nevertheless The Cosby show played an important role in Malcolm’s life, which led to him getting a nomination for an Emmy. In an earlier interview, he opened himself about the legacy of Sitcom.
“The fact that the Cosby show for Black America and White America both legitimized the black middle class, which has always existed since the beginning of this country, but which with everything is not legitimate until it is on TV,” said the deceased actor.
He continued, “When the show first came out, there were white people and black people talking about (how) Huxtables doesn’t really exist, black people don’t really live like that. In the meantime we got tens of thousands of fan letters from people saying, thank you so much for this show.”
He also appeared in projects such as The resident, accused, ten days in the valley, and American Crime Story: The People v. Oj Simpson.
Malcolm was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, August 18, 1970.
