New York, Ny-Mango Markets Exploiter Avraham “Avi” Eisenberg, who stole $ 110 million from the now-defunct decentralized financial protocol, was sentenced to 52 months in prison on Thursday-on his guilty plea of the possession of sexual exploitation material, not to his conviction of the crypto.
The Court comes a year after a jury in New York found that Eisenberg guilty of wire fraud, raw material fraud and manipulation of raw materials for his mango markets stunt, and a year after he separately pleaded guilty to possession of material in sexual abuse (CSAM) found on his units after his arrest.
Defense attorneys moved to either a new trial or an acquittal on Mango-market-related charges last year and claimed that the Ministry of Justice was pursuing the case in the wrong place (the southern district of New York) that the government had not properly proven that the MNGO perpetual was a “swap” which Eisenberg intended to manipulate MNGO-Perpetual rejection. ”
In a Hearing in Manhattan on Thursday, Judge Arun Subramanian said he would judge Eisenberg to more than four years in prison in FCI Otisville, a middle security facility about two hours drive from Manhattan, but that there was a “non-zero chance that I will give that movement” related to Mango-Marked-related prosecutor.
The majority of any verdict would be related to the CSAM prosecution, the judge said.
“I think that in this specific area, general deterrence has more weight … The only way to try to cushion the tide of the distribution of this material” is through a prison sentence, the judge said before reading three testimonies.
The judge also said he acknowledged for Eisenberg’s efforts to better understand the impact of his crime, but that a prison sentence was still needed. Eisenberg is sentenced to five years of probation with strict rules after he has been released from the prison, the judge said, but will have to install surveillance software on all his electronic devices and undergo a drug parent program.

In their conviction of the submission to the court, prosecutors asked Eisenberg to serve between 6.5 and 8 years in prison and emphasized the seriousness of his offenses. Although Eisenberg has maintained that his crypto trading actions in mango markets were “compatible” with the protocol and therefore did not break the law (an argument that a jury obviously did not buy), prosecutors say Eisenberg was aware that what he was doing was a crime. Before his mango markets heist, he had brought a case against another to crypto-related market manipulation and fled the country of Israel when his identity was, as the striker was revealed.
I believe that all our actions were legal open market actions using the protocol as the design, although the development team did not fully expect all the consequences of putting parameters as they are.

Prosecutors also detail Eisenberg’s charges of sexual abuse of children, and told the judge that between 2017 and 2022 he downloaded 1,274 sexually explicit images and videos of children-inclusive toddlers and two-month-old infants-together “depictions of sadistic violence and masochism against children.”
In their own criminal judgment in court, Eisenberg and his lawyers tried to blame his strict religious upbringing and his lifelong “struggling to comply with social norms” for his crimes, called him a “basic decent person” and detailed his challenges adapting to the “daily horrors” of life in prison.
