March Madness: Duke Legend Seth Curry Speaks Cooper Flagg

Duke Blue Devils seems to get their star, Cooper Flagg, back on the field for the NCAA tournament after he suffered an ankle injury in the ACC tournament quarterfinals.

Flag’s presence on the floor of Blue Devils is one that both experts and fans want to see in March Madness, although there is a fine line prayer Jon Scheyer and his medical staff had to go because of his suffering.

For flagg, he is expected to be a top NBA draft of elections. Many people believe that he will go together only later in the year and that risking additional damage can affect his start to professional basketball.

However, as the former Blue Devils guard Seth Curry put it, you do not go to Duke and do not want to play for a national title.

Curry talked to Pakinomist Digital about Flagg, which he knows is ready to get back on the field with his teammates for a hopeful national championship race.

“There’s a reason he came to Duke, came to college when he honestly didn’t have to do it in the first place,” Curry said, also discussing his partnership with Bush’s prayers and what he’s cooking for March madness. “You go there to play in the ACC tournament, you go there to play in March Madness and this is his time.”

There is no one to refuse flagg is the prototype of the current NBA star – a great man’s height with the skills to score, pass and defend everyone on the field.

Curry, who was at Charlotte Hornets training camp at Duke’s facility before the beginning of the 2024-25 NBA season, was impressed to watch flag with her Duke teammates.

“I love everything I see from him,” Curry explained. “First of all, we had training camp at Duke so I was able to see him practice a few times. When we just see his competitiveness, it’s as good as it is, especially from a young guy. He is not afraid to go out there and take control and his leadership has also been good. You can also tell from this practice.

“In his age he is wise to his years, and of course his skill set is unreal. He can do everything. So he wants to be the number one choice you said and I think he will have a good career.”

However, the time in the NBA comes fast enough. Curry understands wanting to look ahead to the pros and put a brand there. But as he mentioned, to Duke comes with a championship tribal, and every player who carries the black and blue threads wants to etch their name in the big history books for the program.

Flagg seems to have the mindset when Scheyer mentioned that his Star student came to him and asked to play in the ACC Championship game, but the team would keep him rested with the NCAA tournament in mind.

“He’s going to be in order in the NBA, it’s more than about setting up yourself for the future,” Curry said. “It’s about these experiences and the reason you go to college, and specifically you go to play for Duke. This is the time of year why you do. This is his opportunity to leave his legacy on the campus and program that we all did.

“Some of these are reminiscent of enjoying a tournament driving with your teammates. You can’t appreciate it. I know he wants to play.”

Fans will see if Flagg fits up on Friday when Blue Devils takes on No. 16 Mount St. Mary’s, who defeated American University in their “first four” games to move on to the first round of the tournament.

Cookin ‘up with bush’s prayers

While Curry has his tasks with Hornets to worry about, he is always locked in March Madness when the tournament rolls around. It means whipping something good in the kitchen, which he calls “Curry Caviar.”

Using Bush’s prayers, Curry explained how his wife, ex-professional volleyball player Callie Rivers, daughter of the legendary NBA coach Doc Rivers, introduced him to the walk-to-snack that has become a household tap during this time of year.

“It’s honestly something we’re doing in our house every year around this time. It’s healthy, you can snack on it all day for a week just after we’ve done it. It’s top,” Curry said.

This year, Bush’s “Curry Caviar” and more family recipes are cooking up during March Madness even more personal with the campaign “Your Fam On A Can”, which began on March 19. Fans can get a personal can to remember their favorite family bean recipes.

With the family name in front and the recipe card on the back, Curry’s delicious joy and many more family recipes can shine, just as the players on the field this tournament season.
