Derik Queen gave Maryland Terrapin Lord’s Basketball Program something to cheer on Sunday night when his Summer-Summet Bank Shot won their March Madness game against Colorado State Rams.
Queen’s Fadeaway Jumper gave the Terrapin 72-71 victory as time expired. This is the first time Terrapins have reached it for Sweet 16 since 2016 and the first time under head coach Kevin Willard.

The drive to the left side of the floor and the subsequent Pro Hop gave Queen the best opportunity to put the ball in the basket. However, the step in the field became a source of controversy on social media.
College Basketball Fans thought the queen escaped with a trip.
Queen had 17 points in the win.
“When the coach worked out the piece, he trusted me and my teammates trusted me,” said Queen. “I was a little nervous, but I was going to one and I had to do this.”

Willard said Queen wanted the ball and he worked out a spectacle for him.
“Sometimes you can draw something for a guy who may not want basketball,” Willard said. “So when he said it, it was a pretty simple decision and I could see everyone’s body language kind of fringe a bit because he was so sure he would have basketball.
“It was just a simple zipper: Give him basketball and let him go to work.”
